FLIGHT DEALS
Probably your bet these days is to you use a “one stop” shopping site on the internet. This will offer you flight deals covering airline bookings, accommodation and car hire as well
giving you comparative fares on all of the major and low-cost carriers
such as OneTime Airways, Kulula.com, British Airways, Mango Airlines,
Nationwide Air and South African Airways displayed in one place whether your looking to book a Domestic or International Flight. Each Airline offers different routes and flight deals and all operate out of South Africa’s 10 Domestic and International Airports.
In order to get a good flight deal to Africa and still find a seat you will need to book at least two months in advance and more especially if you are planning to travel around Christmas. Flights fill up very quickly because they are relatively limited compared to many other world destinations. This is especially the case for African countries with small tourist industries.
You could get a good flight deal via Europe to Africa (especially Amsterdam, Rome and Paris) and then add on a flight from the US. This can work very well during the off-season when flights between Europe and the US are very inexpensive from November to mid-December and January to March. However, flights via London used to be cheap, but a recent hike in airport taxes mean that savings aren’t great anymore.
Some further information – if you are flying via Europe, the most popular flight deals to Namibia leave from Frankfurt. If you are looking for a flight to a West African country, use Paris as your base. For East and Southern Africa most flight deals will go in and out of London. In South Africa there are several budget airline companies which operate regionally to countries like Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Madagascar. For East Africa check out flight deals to Kenya which are popular in Germany and England so you can get some great deals by flying through Europe and getting a charter flight from there.
